Sweater Fronts: (directions are for left front; reverse shaping for right front)

With smaller needles, cast on 62 sts, and work in k1, p1, ribbing for 20 rows, increasing four sts on last row. Neck shaping: Cast off 15 sts at neck edge, then decrease 1 sts every row 4 times, then every other row 4 times. Bind off. (Piece should measure 26 inches).

Sleeves:

With smaller needles, cast on 46 sts. Work in k1, p1, ribbing for 20 rows. Change to larger needles, increasing 19 sts on last row. Set pattern as follows: Cable 4, p2, sl 1, moss 6, sl 1, p2, cable 4, p2, tw2, Diamond patt, tw2, p2, cable 4, p2, sl 1, moss 6, sl 1, p2, cable 4.

Finishing:

Sew sleeves to fronts and back, attaching saddle shoulder to tops of fronts and back. Sew side and sleeve seams.

Neckband: Pick up sts along front neck edges, and along back neck edge. Work in ribbing for enough rows to double over and also fit zipper along front edge. Bind off -- do not sew into place yet.

Sew zipper up both fronts, matching both sides. Then, fold over collar and sew down to beginning of neckband.
